Junior Jets

IHV Junior competition is divided into 4 mixed teams based on the year the player was born.

U11 11 years & under (NON-CHECKING)

Birth years 2013 - 2017  (Winter Season 2024)

U13 13 years & under (NON-CHECKING)

Birth years 2011 - 2012  (Winter Season 2024)

U15 15 years & under (MODIFIED CHECKING)

Birth years 2009 - 2010  (Winter Season 2024)

U17 17 years & under (FULL CHECKING)

Birth years 2007 - 2008  (Winter Season 2024)

Winter season runs from April through to September, with a club presentation day at the season conclusion in October.

Games are held weekly (mostly Saturdays, with some additional Sunday games).  Check the Schedule tab for more specific dates and times for this season.

Registration includes one weekly training session with a second training session held on a fortnightly basis.  If you'd like to know more about training schedules, refer to the DIVISIONS tab above.

Join a Jets Junior Academy Team

Recruitment for teams begins with a friendly skate at the beginning of March each year which is usually announced by February.  If you'd like to know more about how to join a team or future announcements, send us a message via our Contact Form.

Junior Ice Hockey is growing in Victoria!

As of 2024 there are four teams across the junior divisions. Alongside the Melbourne Jets, there are the iceHQ Ducks, the Melbourne Demons & the Docklands Ice Wolves.

The Demons & Ice Wolves are based out of O'Brien Icehouse located in Melbourne Docklands & iceHQ Ducks are based at iceHQ Sports Arena in Reservoir.  Both of these rinks also offer Ice Hockey programs to get your junior started.
